Oil Palm Economic Benefit Distribution to Regions for Environmental Sustainability: Indonesia’s Revenue-Sharing Scheme

Palm oil is considered a key commodity in supporting the Indonesian economy, generating both domestic revenue and foreign exchange. Such needs to be distributed equally for benefit of government society. This paper discusses opportunities challenges proposed revenue-sharing scheme, DBH Sawit, sourcing from palm oil, particularly between central local governments. It examines how scheme can implemented what strategies reward regions moving toward environmental sustainability practices. Research methods used this include literature study, stakeholder interviews, SWOT method analytical hierarchy processes. Results indicate that Sawit one several fiscal instruments could potentially incentivize sustainability. has strengths anticipated opportunities, such as increased CPO production global demand oil. faces, however, serious weaknesses, unauthorized plantations absence traceability systems. also threatened by unfair market policies. recommends diverse increase productivity, accelerate certification develop tracing system.
